How Does CBOOA Operate?

CBOOA is managed by an Executive Committee (Word™), elected by the members at the AGM, to manage the association's day-to-day affairs and provide leadership and plan the future directions of the association. In 2003, the Committee developed a Business Plan to guide the development of improved member and industry communications and inclusion of regional operators in WA over the next 3 years.

Members operate under a Code of Conduct (PDF), and compliance with this Code helps build the industry's professional reputation and commitment to quality service delivery.

CBOOA objectives are set out in the CBOOA Constitution, including:

  1. to provide an organisation, property and facilities through which persons involved in the Western Australian Charter Boat Industry may collectively pursue the best conditions which the economy of Australia will permit;
  2. to promote and develop an efficient and safe charter boating industry within Western Australia;
  3. to promote efforts within the industry for the solving of common problems and unite all sections of the Charter Boat Industry for their common benefit;
  4. to present the views of a cohesive Charter Boat Industry at State and Commonwealth levels of Government, act as adviser to, or intermediary between industry and Government, key stakeholder groups and the community and to appoint or nominate representatives to various bodies;
  5. to encourage strong regional industry 'user groups' and support regional representation.
